PUNE/NOIDA: The 15th Auto Expo - The Motor Show, is all set to take place this week from February 7 to 12 in Greater Noida and the automobile industry in the country is all geared up for a grand spectacle.
Reeling under the steep decline in production and poor sales for the past couple of years, the industry is looking forward to a promising year ahead with a slew of new launches, mainly focusing on BSVI emissions and electric mobility.
Domestic manufacturer Tata Motors will be displaying around 28 products from their varied portfolio of passenger, electric, commercial and alternate fuel vehicles as well as electric buses. There will also be a special zone for connected vehicles and a zone for vehicle safety.
The unveiling of Tata Motor’s new car Gravitas will also take place during the grand expo.
Another Indian carmaker, Mahindra, will also have a plethora of products on display with a range of electric vehicles, SUVs, commercial vehicles and concept cars. The XUV500 EV concept and XUV300 EV concept will be seen at the show.
All eyes will be on India’s biggest carmaker Maruti Suzuki’s Futuro-E, their electric SUV concept, rivalling the recently-launched Nexon EV.
Also on the show would be the Vitara Brezza facelift, Ignis facelift and the Swift Hybrid.
German luxury carmaker Mercedes-Benz will have the much-awaited India debut of AMG GT 63 S 4MATIC 4 door Coupe, the unveiling of the all-new A-Class limousine, the new GLA and MB’s latest electric mobility offering, the EQC Edition 1886. The MB hall will also showcase its concept car Volocopter.
Apart from showcasing other models, Kia will launch the much-awaited Carnival at the Expo on February 5 and the car has already received a large number of bookings.
Hyundai will be showcasing a line of facelift products including Verna, Tucson and the new Creta.
The Volkswagen group will focus on its India-specific range of SUVs and electric vehicles. Chinese-owned British brand Morris Garages will display the new Hector and Vision-i concept among other SUVs.
Making their debut at the Auto Expo and India would be Great Wall Motors (GWM), China’s largest SUV manufacturer. The company is expected to display a range of SUVs and electric vehicles at the venue.
