Cummins India flags off 1st mobile training fleet on BS-VI

PUNE: With the objective to educate and offer training on the BS-VI technology engines, Cummins India has launched the first fleet of eight BS-VI mobile training vans on Wednesday. 

The campaign was flagged off at Cummins India Office Campus in Pune and the vans will travel to multi-cities across the country, starting from November 6.

Cummins training vans will travel to OEM dealers and authorised workshops for technicians, bodybuilders, drivers and customers to conduct BS-VI awareness training. 

This campaign will provide an opportunity for participants to have hands-on training experience without having to travel to centralised training centres.

Speaking on the initiative, Ashwath Ram, Managing Director, Cummins India, said, “At Cummins, it is our constant endeavour to empower our customers through innovation and dependability along with a suitable strategy that addresses market requirements. Cummins is the pioneer and technology leader in cleaner air and emission technologies across the world, following the success of BS-IV SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) technology, it is natural and easy for us to be the enabler of the technological upgrade from BS-IV to BS-VI. Globally, more than 1 million Euro-6/BS-VI equivalent and higher emission vehicles are running with Cummins engine and after-treatment system.”

A Cummins BS-VI engine is installed in each van with cut sections of engine parts and SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) system. It also houses the Cummins Single Module After-treatment system to give the audience a real touch and experience the Cummins technology. The training van is equipped with LCD TV’s to impart information and training videos for the Cummins BS-VI engines. 

Anjali Pandey, Vice President Engine Business and Component Business, Cummins India said, “The objective of this campaign is to educate and impart training on the BS-VI technology and provide the first-hand experience to our customers, OEM dealers and authorised workshops.”

In the first phase, the fleet of eight training vans will travel across major cities like Pune, Mumbai, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Chennai, Cochin, Kolkata, Jamshedpur, Jaipur etc. and covering 10 cities and towns per month to start with.
