It was a dream come true: Gurbani Gill

Sakal Times

Gurbani Gill, who made her acting debut with Oscar-nominated film Dear Molly, loved being part of the project. Talking about the film, she says, “It’s a contemporary film which focuses on relationships, especially the father-daughter relationship. It’s basically a journey of the character Molly in search of her father and all the events that happened through the journey. It explains why Molly has come to where she is now. Molly herself was someone that came to me very naturally because I have very similar personality traits as her and the events in her life were very similar to mine. I am just like her, leaving her home, leaving her country, I understood it very deeply.”

The actor loved working with Gajendra Ahire, who has directed the film. “Working with Gajendra Ahire was truly amazing. I learned, I think more than I possibly could learn from anybody in this world because he has a very raw way of doing things. Working with him taught me to unlearn a lot of things and the way he does things, his artistic point of view is just amazing. He is a national-award winning director and it was surreal for me to work with him. I felt so grateful every day on the shoot having him telling me all the necessary things. Working with him was a dream come true,” she says.
