Spicing it up further

Alisha Shinde

Good food, good wine and a good time. To enjoy all this, head to Fidalgo’s Chilli n Spice, which recently opened up its bar to patrons. The restaurant is well decorated and has vibrant furniture with the dining chairs painted in amber, orange and black and well-lit tables. There is a private section as well and if you want to enjoy the winter chill, you can opt for the outdoor seating arrangement.

The starters menu at Chilli n Spice is a combination of Indian, Mughlai and Continental. Some of the dishes have been specially curated by their head chef, Shambhuraje Shedge. Of which the chef’s signature dishes are Pathar Ke Kebab, Chicken Angare and Paneer Tikka Bhalle, amongst several others.

The Chicken Tandoori Chingari is something you must try. The speciality of the dish is that the chicken is cooked in the tandoor not once but twice with two different marinations which takes this dish to a whole new level with a spicy note to it. The mint chutney served along with it enhances its taste further.

Among the non-vegetarian bar snacks, the Oriental Chicken is delectable. It is akin to Buffalo Wings but in the latter only the wings are used whereas in this version the entire chicken wing portion including the drumette, wingette and tip is cooked and topped with Oriental sauce that adds a lot of flavour as well as makes it a perfect bar snack. Adrak Ke Panje, a mutton-based dish comprises mutton chops cooked delicately in a lingering flavour of garlic, also tantalises the taste buds.

In the vegetarian variety of bar snacks, Zinan Spring Rolls with a spicy sweet chilli dip, Stuffed Tandoori Mushrooms, Mezze Platter including Babaganoush, Hummus and Sour Cream and served with delicately made Pita Pockets, and Spiced Pita Bread served with Banana Chips and Salsa are worth a try.

The newly-opened bar has a number of options in liquors and beers to choose from and includes both international as well as Indian brands. The bar also has a wide variety of newly curated cocktails and mocktails. A few of the mocktails available are Blue Lagoon made of Blue Curacao and Sprite, Virgin Pinacolada made of coconut cream and pineapple juice, as well as Long Island Iced Tea made of all white spirits, to name a few. They are also working on curating more and more cocktails and mocktails other than the ones which are already available.

The hotel is also all set to open up their new rooftop bar in the next couple of months. The speciality of this bar will be the bar snacks which will be an array of meats and vegetables served as kebabs or grilled variety. The bar will also have a lounge that will host a number of events and  sports screenings.

For the safety of the guests, the hotel has come up with a ‘Pick and Drop’ service. All the guests can book this service directly through the hotel.

A delectable treat and a good selection of drinks await you at Chilli n Spice, Hotel Fidalgo, Sakore Nagar Rd, Viman Nagar, Hotel, so make a dash.
