On Alia Bhatt’s birthday: A gift for her fans!

Ranbir Kapoor's family showers Alia Bhatt with all the love and wishes on her birthday.

On Monday morning, the Bollywood star Alia Bhatt gifted a glimpse of her character SS Rajamouli’s upcoming RRR to her fans. Playing Sita in the movie, the actor looks radiant in the picture shared by her.

In the picture, Alia has donned a simple green saree, has her hair styled in a long braid and is sitting in front of a basket of flowers. For us, the picture has a rustic charm to it. While our birthday girl has just written “Sita #RRR” in her post, the same picture shared by the official movie handle wrote, “The wait ends here! Here's presenting @aliaabhatt as our #Sita #HappyBirthdayAliaBhatt (sic)”.

Ahead of the big reveal, Alia teased her fans with a glimpse of her character in the upcoming film. It was a silhouette shot with the caption, "Coming tomorrow".

Birthday wishes

Even though the character reveal is the big birthday highlight for the actor’s fans, but for her friends and family, this day is just about celebrating the “sunshine” in their lives. Social media is being flooded with love and wishes from the 28-year-old actor’s loved ones.

Among those who were the first ones to wish Alia on her birthday were her mother Soni Razdan, sister Pooja Bhatt, Neetu Kapoor, and Kareena Kapoor Khan, among others.

Taking it to Instagram her mother shared a glowing picture of the actor in black and white and wrote, “‘The art of a people is a true mirror to their minds’ Jawaharlal Nehru. In that case my darling you have a very special mind ... may it bloom and grow forever and may you also always like what you see in the mirror. Happy Birthday Sunshine! Love you to bits and pieces and so much that they don’t have a number for that (sic)”.

Calling her a “superstar”, Kareena wished Alia through her Instagram status. She too, like the actor’s mother, shared a black and white picture of the Highway actor, and wrote, “Happy birthday superstar. Continue to shine like no one can”.

Even though her rumoured-beau is down with COVID-19, his side of the family has certainly filled in the gap with all the love and wishes. Ranbir Kapoor’s sister, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, too, took it to the social media platform to wish the “beautiful doll” a happy birthday. She shared a few pictures of Alia and wrote “Happiest Birthday”.

RRR slated to hit the theatres on October 13, 2021

Along with Alia, RRR will also be powered by the star power of Ajay Devgn, Ram Charan and Jr NTR, among others. The reports suggest that the film is set in the 1920s.

It is Rajamouli's first project after the 2017 blockbuster Baahubali 2: The Conclusion. As was the case for many Bollywood as well as South movies, earlier RRR was scheduled for a July 2020 release. The plan, however, changed as the shooting was halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Apart from RRR, Alia also has Brahmastra and Gangubai Kathiawadi in the pipeline.
