In a surprising turn of events, Marathi cinema star Shruti Marathe has emerged as the leading lady in the much-anticipated blockbuster Devara, starring Jr NTR.

While audiences were eagerly waiting to see Janhvi Kapoor in the lead, it’s Shruti who has claimed the pivotal role in this epic drama. This revelation has left fans of both the South and Marathi film industries buzzing.

Devara, which hit the big screens on September 27th, had already created waves with its star-studded cast, including Jr NTR, Saif Ali Khan, Murli Sharma, and Prakash Raj. Prior to the release, the romantic song featuring Jr NTR and Janhvi Kapoor captured the audience’s imagination, leading many to believe that Janhvi would play the central female character.

However, in a plot twist that few expected, it’s Shruti Marathe who portrays the significant role of Jr NTR’s wife.

Shruti’s presence has taken fans by surprise, as she shares the screen with one of the biggest stars in Telugu cinema. Known for her work in Marathi and South Indian films, Shruti’s role in Devara has cemented her position as a versatile actress capable of crossing regional boundaries.

Big Reveal: Dual Roles and a Limited Screen Time for Janhvi Kapoor The film, known for its high-octane action and dramatic twists, features Jr NTR in dual roles – Devara and Vara.

Shruti Marathe plays Devara’s wife, a central character, while Janhvi Kapoor’s role is limited but impactful. She enters the film post-interval as a love interest to Vara, the second character played by Jr NTR.

Fans of Janhvi Kapoor were slightly disappointed by her reduced screen time, but there's a silver lining – Devara: Part 2 is already in the works, and it’s rumored that Janhvi’s character will have a much more significant role in the sequel.

Devara Shines at the Box Office From the moment it hit theaters, Devara has been ruling the box office. The film raked in a massive ₹82.5 crore on its opening day, followed by ₹38.2 crore on day two and ₹39.9 crore on day three. As of now, the film has grossed ₹162.24 crore in India alone, with collections continuing to soar.

Released in multiple languages – Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam – Devara has captivated audiences across the nation.

As the film continues its successful run, the audience is eagerly waiting for the second part of Devara, where Janhvi Kapoor’s character is expected to play a much larger role alongside Jr NTR.
