Sure summer dresses, camisoles and t-shirts are the most alluring trends but as winters take over, our favourites are forced to hide behind layers. Hence, more often than not we are left with oversized jackets being dragged around over our summer essentials.
But colder seasons are not an excuse to dress baggily, it is rather the time to improvise with what we have and enjoy the most pleasant seasons of the year.
The winter season is officially upon us, and it is time to bring out your chic knits and cardigans.
The Bridge Chronicle puts together a list of Fall/Winter 2020 trends to stay in style.
Knit dresses and long jackets
Winters are no excuse to stack your dresses away. It is time to have fun with layers and make our wardrobe more cold-friendly. Experiment with layers or sweater dresses.
Body-con dresses are a big hit this season and are a great pair with layers be it jackets or scarfs. Choose deep colour dresses such as black, blue or grey and couple them with light or pastel scarfs. Play with self-printed cardigans or statement jackets to brighten up your otherwise simple dresses.
Skirts and turtle neck
Fashion trends are taking a detour to the 70s' and so should you. Think brown plaid skirts, check pants or chic wrap dresses. Burnt orange, tan and olive-tone hues are making a comeback this season and it is a home run for people like me who swear by plaid and print styles.
Couple your plaid button-down skirt with a mini check shirt or turtle neck sweater. Or experiment with check pants and plain t-shirts. Check dresses with solid overcoat can be an option for the colder nights.
Velvet Jackets
Velvet is the season's most beloved fabric and comes in the most versatile forms. Begining from skirts, tops, jackets to long pants and dresses - velvet is a fit and flaunt it all.
But if you ask us, nothing says style in winter like a dress layered with a velvet jacket.
Puffer jacket
For all the colder cities, puffer jackets could be a lifesaver. Light-weight and extremely functional, these jackets fit every aspect of being fashion conscious and utility-oriented.
Check options such as deep-set side pockets, cinched waists, and non-traditional zipper placements to fit your style perfectly.
Beanie
Windy winter nights are incomplete without a beanie protecting you from extreme cold. But is that still trending? Yes of course! It's 2020 and hats have been on the runway everywhere. Right from bucket hats and beanies to more statement hats - there are a lot of options to choose.
Even if you do not want to get experimenting with then, a simple beanie goes a long way in adding that perfect touch to your outfit.
