60-Year-Old Man Attacks Sister-in-Law with Hot Oil and Knife in Yerawada

Pune: In a disturbing case of domestic violence, a 60-year-old man allegedly attacked his 70-year-old sister-in-law by throwing hot oil on her and stabbing her in the back with a knife. The incident took place in broad daylight outside their residence in the Ambedkar Housing Society, Yerawada.

The victim, Laxmi Sudhakar Kadam, filed a complaint with the Yerawada Police, who have registered a case against the accused, Gautam Namdev Kadam.

According to the authorities, the attack occurred around 4 p.m. on Monday following a heated family dispute.

Earlier in the day, the Ambedkar Society had hosted a ceremony for a local sewing class, which both the victim and the accused had attended. As Laxmi Kadam was returning home, Gautam Kadam, harboring resentment from a previous domestic disagreement, confronted her and suddenly threw hot oil on her.

Not stopping there, he proceeded to stab her in the back, leaving her seriously injured.

Passersby and neighbors rushed to help, and the injured woman was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Police have launched an investigation, with Assistant Police Inspector Takle leading the case.

The motive behind the attack appears to be linked to unresolved family disputes between the two. The police are continuing their investigation and have assured that necessary action will be taken against the accused.
