Pune: In a shocking case of deception, a young woman was fraudulently married off to two men using a forged Aadhaar card. The police have registered a case against five individuals, including the woman herself. The incidents took place on Thursday, July 4th, at the Popale Mangal Karyalaya in Alandi and at Wagholi in Khed Taluka.

The complaint was filed by Rahul Dasharath Kanse, 37, a resident of Triveni Nagar, Talwade, originally from Bhandvali, Satara. He reported the fraud to the Alandi police station on Friday, July 5th.

The accused have been identified as Jyoti Ravindra Patil alias Jyoti Dhananjay Londhe, Bhavesh Ravindra Patil, Jyoti Patil's parents, and their daughter Nisha Dattaram Lokhande, a resident of Vile Parle, Mumbai. The police have charged them under several sections of the Indian Penal Code, including IPC sections 318(2), 319(2), 318(4), 336(3), 340(2), and 3(5).

According to the police, the suspects conspired to marry Nisha Lokhande to Chaitanya Khande and extorted money from him. They also created a fake Aadhaar card for Nisha, presenting her to the complainant Rahul Kanse as Nisha Dattaram Patil.

Following this, they arranged Nisha's marriage to Rahul's brother, Sunil Kanse. The suspects took Rs 1.55 lakh in cash from Rahul Kanse and Rs 95,000 was deposited into Bhavesh Ravindra Patil's account.

In total, the fraud amounted to Rs 2.50 lakh. The police are continuing their investigation into this elaborate scheme of forgery and fraud.
