Accidental Shooting: Grocery Store Owner Injured While Handling Illegal Firearm

Pune: A man was injured in an accidental shooting while handling an illegal firearm in the Wadgaon Budruk area on Sinhagad Road on Thursday (July 11) morning. The incident occurred when a bullet struck a man's leg, causing him to be hospitalized in a private medical facility.

In the Wadgaon Budruk area, a grocery store owner was in possession of an illegally acquired locally-made pistol. Around 7:45 AM, the shopkeeper was showing the firearm to his friend when it accidentally discharged. The bullet grazed his friend's leg, leading to the injury.

Upon receiving information about the shooting, Senior Police Inspector Vijay Kumbhar and a team from the Sinhagad Road Police Station rushed to the scene. Senior officers inspected the location.

Inspector Kumbhar stated that an investigation is underway to determine the exact circumstances of the shooting.
