Pune: Additional Commissioner of Police Manoj Patil conducted a thorough inspection of Sinhagad Road on Thursday (August 8) to address the ongoing traffic congestion.

The inspection led to the issuance of directives to traffic department officials aimed at easing the gridlock. Municipal officials have also been engaged in discussions about necessary improvements in three major junctions, which are expected to be implemented within the next few days.

The inspection comes in response to growing public frustration about the severe traffic issues affecting residents in the area. Patil noted that the primary areas of congestion are Santosh Hall Chowk, Hingne Junction, and Inamdar Chowk, where a flyover is also under construction.

A plan has been devised to address the traffic issues at these three junctions. Until the plan is fully implemented, traffic police will be deployed at these locations.

Additionally, areas with "No Parking" on both sides of the road will see further enforcement, and the number of wardens will be increased. Traffic signals at some junctions will also be synchronized to improve flow.

Patil mentioned that municipal officials have been informed about the immediate measures needed, which are expected to be completed in the next two to three days, providing some relief to motorists on Sinhagad Road.

The completion and operation of the flyover, however, remains a critical factor in resolving the congestion entirely, which is under the jurisdiction of the municipal corporation.
