Admission Process for Minority Girls' Hostel in Shivajinagar Begins

Shivraj Sanas

Pune: The admission process has commenced for the newly established hostel in Shivajinagar, dedicated to female students from minority communities including Muslim, Buddhist, Christian, Jain, Sikh, Jewish, and Parsi faiths, who are pursuing higher education.

This hostel has been set up under the Minority Hostel Scheme to provide accommodation and support for minority students in Pune.

Interested applicants can access the application form, along with the list of required documents and selection criteria, on the official website www.gppune.ac.in.

Completed application forms must be submitted to the Department of Atomic Energy and Telecommunications at the Government Polytechnic by October 24, along with the necessary documents.

In addition to student admissions, the hostel is also seeking service providers for various operational roles. Tenders have been invited from registered service providers to fill positions for a superintendent, clerk, peon, cleaner, and security guard.

These positions will be filled on a contract basis at the Government Minority Girls' Hostel. Dr. Rajendra Patil, Principal of the Government Polytechnic and Member Secretary of the Minority Hostel, provided this information.

The establishment of this hostel is a significant step in supporting minority students' higher education journey, providing them with safe accommodation and essential services.

In a related development, the Maharashtra state government has issued a directive mandating the installation of CCTV cameras in all government, grant-aided, and non-aided residential and non-residential institutions for disabled children. These include special schools, workshops, and orphanages for mentally challenged students.
