Pune: Ajit Pawar, the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, took a refreshing approach during his "Jan Sanman Yatra" in Sinnar today, opting to travel to the event venue on the back seat of a motorcycle.
Speaking at a farmers' gathering, he shared a humorous anecdote from his journey. Pawar noted that it had been a while since he had last ridden a motorcycle and, as a precaution, he chose not to drive.
He emphasized the importance of adhering to traffic laws, stating that despite requests from supporters to remove his helmet so he could be seen, he chose to keep it on, asserting that "the law must be followed, even if I am not visible."
Pawar also took the opportunity to remind the audience of his humble beginnings, recounting how he lost his father at a young age and worked hard despite being the nephew of a prominent political figure.
He urged people not to be overly emotional but to point out any mistakes so they can be corrected for the betterment of the state and the country.
Addressing political matters, Pawar refrained from engaging with his critics, instead focusing on the importance of legislative integrity.
He reassured the audience that ongoing projects would continue for the next five years and that the state government would cooperate with the central government to avoid any future export bans that might harm local interests.
During the event, a local resident questioned why Manikrao Kokate had not been given a ministerial position, despite his popularity. Pawar responded by promising that Kokate would be made a minister as soon as the government is formed, effectively announcing Kokate's candidacy.
