Architectural Graduates Celebrated at BNCA's 26th Graduation Ceremony

Pune: MKSSS’s Dr. Bhanuben Nanavati College of Architecture for Women (BNCA) recently held its 26th Graduation Ceremony, honoring over 175 students from both undergraduate and postgraduate programs.

The event was attended by prominent figures, including Avinash Patil, Director of the Town Planning Department and Valuation, Maharashtra State, Dr. Anurag Kashyap, Principal of BNCA, and Dr. Sharvey Dhongde, Vice Principal of BNCA. Faculty members and parents were also present to celebrate the milestone.

During the ceremony, students excelling in their respective fields were awarded certificates by the dignitaries. Among the postgraduate achievers, Pooja Shah (Digital Architecture), Rituja Date (Environmental Architecture), and Mrigaja Pawar (Landscape Architecture) stood out for their academic excellence.

In the undergraduate category, Kajal Garwal, Apoorva Kate, Aditi Ranware, Nikita Mohol, Monica Sathe, Shamita Pai, and Shreya Kolte were recognized for securing the highest marks in their final year and architectural design projects.

Patil emphasized the growing demand for architects in the public sector, particularly within the Public Works Department (PWD) and the state’s town planning department.

He noted that architects have opportunities not only in the private sector but also in key government roles, where the demand for design professionals is increasing.

Dr. Kashyap highlighted BNCA’s legacy of producing skilled professionals over the last three decades and encouraged graduates to aspire not only to be professionals but also to become entrepreneurs and employers. He reassured the students that the BNCA community would continue to stand behind them throughout their careers.

Dr. Dhongde commended the graduates for their resilience, particularly in navigating the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. A report on the National Conference titled 'Built and Beyond 2.0: Theory, Practice, and Pedagogy' was also released by Dr. Swati Sahasrabudhe, Head of the BNCA Research Center, during the event.

The ceremony was coordinated by students Aditi Sapkal, Janhvi Ketkar, and Isha Chaudhary, with Prof. Saurabh Marathe delivering the vote of thanks.
