Arun Kumar Devnath Singh Remanded to Police Custody till November 14

Pune: The prosecution told the court that it wants to know the bank accounts of accused Arun Kumar Singh for the amount paid to Ashish Mittal and other accused, including doctors in Sassoon, to change the blood samples of the minor sitting in the Porsche car involved in the Kalyaninagar accident case.

Arun Kumar Debnath Singh (47), a resident of Vimannagar, finally surrendered after the High Court and the Supreme Court rejected his anticipatory bail in a case registered in connection with a sample change case. He was kept in judicial custody in Yerawada jail as per the court order.

The police then took him into custody and produced him before a special court on Friday and sought police custody of the accused.

Investigating officer Ganesh Ingle and special public prosecutor Shishir Hiray sought police custody of the accused.

On behalf of the defense, Adv. Abid Mulani, Advocate Sarathi Pansare, appearing for the petitioner, denied the allegations that the accused had altered his blood sample and tampered with government documents.

The defence brought to the notice of the court that the accused's anticipatory bail applications were pending in the High Court and the Supreme Court, yet he was being called a fugitive. After hearing arguments from both sides, Special Judge U M. Mudholkar remanded the accused in police custody till November 14.
