Ashwini Gaikwad: From Raising a Daughter to Serving in the Police Force

Post-marriage, Ashwini Gaikwad was encouraged by her husband and in-laws to continue her education and is currently in second year of science studies.

Pune: Ashwini Vikas Gaikwad from Pondewadi, Ambegaon taluka, successfully managed the responsibilities of raising her young daughter and household chores while dedicating two hours daily to field training for over a year.

Her hard work and determination have culminated in her selection as a police officer, celebrated with great enthusiasm by the villagers.

After completing her 12th grade in the science stream, Ashwini Gaikwad got married. Encouraged by her husband and in-laws, she decided to continue her education and is currently in her second year of science studies.

Despite having a young daughter, she traveled five kilometers daily to Pargaon to attend pre-police recruitment training at Saksham Academy. Her husband, Vikas Gaikwad, supported her by taking her to and from the training center on a motorcycle.

Balancing the responsibilities of raising a young daughter and managing her household, Ashwini prepared diligently with daily two-hour field training sessions for a year.

Her selection as a police officer in the Sambhajinagar police force was celebrated by the villagers with a procession, fireworks, and a civic honor ceremony.

The ceremony was attended by Shiv Sena district chief Suresh Bhor, former chairman of Bhimashankar Sugar Factory Devdatt Nikam, Pondevadi Deputy Sarpanch Mahendra Pokharkar, former Deputy Sarpanch Sandeep Pokharkar, Dilip Pawale, Surekha Nighot, Aruna Ghode, Bharat More, Mahesh Wagh, Sachin Labade, Jayasingh Ponde, Popat Rode, Baban Nana Walunj, Vitthal Makhar, Sushant Rode, Balasaheb Rode, Santosh Pancharas, Sandeep Tambe, Sandeep Gaikwad, Kiran Shantaram Dhobale, Suraj Hinge, Sadashiv Harke, and others.

The event was hosted by Nilesh Padwal, with Balasaheb Rode giving the vote of thanks.
