Pune: The murder of former corporator Vanraj Andekar, who was killed with gunshots and machete wounds, was the result of an extensive plan that included one and a half months of surveillance by the attackers.
It has been revealed that three pistols were used in the murder, which was orchestrated by Somnath Gaikwad, Aniket Dudhbhate, and Jayant Komkar.
The planning for the attack began with Somnath Gaikwad informing Aniket Dudhbhate about the intended assault. The attack was initially scheduled for Sunday afternoon but was executed later that night, leading to Andekar’s death.
Aniket Dudhbhate coordinated the involvement of other accused individuals and brought them to Nana Peth, where the attack took place. The attackers fired shots at Andekar and then struck him with a machete.
They had pre-planned their escape route, arriving and fleeing the scene on motorcycles. In connection with this case, the police have so far arrested 18 individuals.
