Pune: Chandrakant Patil met with the PMC Officials to address various issues concerning the Baner, Balewadi, Sutarwadi, Pashan, and Someshwarwadi areas. He emphasized the need for rapid completion of the Balewadi-Wakad road, which has faced delays due to land acquisition problems.

Patil also highlighted the urgent need to repair malfunctioning drainage systems in Sutarwadi, particularly those impacted by recent floods, and suggested allocating funds from the MLA's budget to expedite the work.

The meeting, held at the Pune Municipal Corporation, included several prominent leaders, including BJP's Sachin Pashankar, BJP Pune City General Secretary Puneet Joshi, BJP leaders Lahu Balwadkar, Ganesh Kalamkar, Pralhad Saykar, Prakash Tatya Balwadkar, Rahul Kokate, Sachin Dalvi, and NCP leader Baburao Chandore, along with all BJP officials.

The work on the bridge over the Mula River, connecting Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad, from Wakad to Balewadi, is currently underway. Although most of the bridge is complete, a 300-meter stretch on the Pune side remains unfinished due to land acquisition issues.

The Chief Minister had informed the legislative assembly that efforts are being made by the municipal administration to resolve this issue through compromise. Patil instructed that this process be expedited and the roadwork completed swiftly.

Additionally, the heavy rainfall in Pune during July and August created flood-like conditions in several areas. The Ramnadi River, flowing through Pashan and Sutarwadi, flooded due to the downpour. The non-functional drainage systems led to water accumulating in the cemetery.

Patil suggested that these drainage systems be repaired immediately, with funds allocated from the MLA's budget for this purpose. He also instructed that the 36-meter Baner-Pashan Link Road be completed quickly, as well as the roadwork from Ivory Estate to Someshwarwadi Nimhan Mala.

Furthermore, following a Supreme Court directive, the waste collection center on Pashan-Sus Road is being relocated to PMRDA land in Nande.

This project is in its final stages, which will provide relief to the residents of Baner, Balewadi, Pashan, and Sus. Patil expressed satisfaction with this development. He also directed that water tankers be used to supply water to the Karishma Society in Kothrud, which is facing water shortages.
