Pune: Higher and Technical Education Minister, and MLA from Kothrud assembly constituency, Chandrakant Patil has directed the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) to prioritize the completion of the 36-meter link road connecting Baner and Pashan, ensuring local residents are taken into confidence. He also emphasized the urgent resolution of civic issues.

Minister Patil inspected ongoing PMC projects, including the Ivory Estate Road in Someshwarwadi, the installation of an STP plant on Baner Kalamkar Nala, the Balewadi High Street, and the Wakad Bridge Link Road.

The inspection team included PMC Commissioner Dr. Rajendra Bhosale, Deputy Commissioner Mahesh Patil, Chief Engineer of the Road Department Aniruddha Pawaskar, Superintendent Engineer Amar Shinde, and Deputy Commissioner of Circle No. 2 Ganesh Sonawane.

The first phase of the Ivory Estate-Someshwarwadi Road is completed, with remaining tasks like footpath construction and street lighting to be expedited.

Land acquisition for the next phase should be promptly carried out. Essential actions like land acquisition for the link road and the relocation of protective walls of housing societies need immediate attention. Patil also suggested seeking police assistance for removing encroachments and submitting proposals if additional funds are required.

At Baner's Ganaraj Chowk, Minister Patil reviewed the sewage management project on Kalamkar Nala. Considering the nuisance caused to nearby residents by the water flow, he instructed that the tender process for the STP should be expedited and the work initiated quickly. He also interacted with local residents to understand their difficulties.

Minister Patil stressed the urgent resolution of issues related to water supply, waste management, and faulty sewage pipelines. He recommended weekly review meetings at PMC’s regional offices to monitor the progress of such works.

Additionally, he instructed the swift completion of the High Street Road work in Balewadi. He urged the PMC Commissioner to hold meetings with landowners to resolve their issues and expedite land acquisition to accelerate the road construction.
