The restriction is expected to ease the traffic bottleneck at Saykar Chowk, one of the busiest junctions on Baner Road.

Pune: The Chatuhshrungi Traffic Division of Pune Police, has announced significant changes in traffic movement at Saykar Chowk.

As part of this new regulation, all vehicles coming from Veerbhadranagar are prohibited from directly entering Saykar Chowk. This decision aims to streamline traffic flow in the area and reduce congestion.

In place of the direct route, an alternative route has been suggested for motorists. Vehicles coming from Veerbhadranagar are now required to take a left turn before Saykar Chowk, continue on Baner Road, and take a U-turn at Syngenta Chowk to re-enter Saykar Chowk.

This change in traffic pattern is part of an ongoing effort by the Pune Traffic Police to manage growing vehicular congestion in key areas of the city. The restriction is expected to ease the traffic bottleneck at Saykar Chowk, one of the busiest junctions in the region.

Invitation for Public Feedback:

In an effort to make the process more inclusive, the Pune Traffic Police have opened a window for public suggestions. Citizens are invited to submit their feedback in writing to the Office of the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic Control Branch, Yerawada, Pune. Suggestions and objections will be accepted till September 21, 2024.

Exemptions for Essential Services:

The traffic diversion order, however, does not apply to essential service vehicles such as fire brigades, police vehicles, and ambulances, which will still be allowed to enter Saykar Chowk directly.

Once the public feedback period concludes, the traffic department will review the suggestions and finalize the traffic regulations for the area. The Deputy Commissioner of Police, Amol Zhende, will issue a final order after considering the feedback from citizens.
