Baramati City Police Station Scene of Mass Brawl, 17 Charged

Pune: A brawl erupted at Baramati City Police Station after a dispute from the Amrai locality was brought in by a complainant. Both groups involved in the initial quarrel followed to the station, where tensions escalated, resulting in a physical altercation. A mirror was broken, and a police officer was assaulted during the incident.

This event has caused significant unrest in the local area. The Baramati City Police have charged 17 individuals from both groups with obstructing government work and assault.

Female police officer Supriya Gore filed a complaint leading to charges against Bunty Jagtap, Vikas Jagtap, Tanu Jagtap, Ajay Nage, Anita Dinesh Jagtap, and seven to eight unknown individuals, all residents of Amrai, Baramati. The police also took mutual complaints from both parties and filed charges accordingly.

The incident occurred between 11:30 PM and midnight on Monday (July 28). Bunty Jagtap, who arrived injured at the police station with Anita Dinesh Jagtap and five others, was attacked by Dheeraj Padkar upon receiving medical instructions from the police.

Bunty and his group then assaulted Dheeraj, and during the melee, a mirror was shattered and used in an attempt to stab Dheeraj. Police intervened but were also assaulted, leading to further charges.

In a related complaint by Gaurav Dilip Jagtap, the police also charged Dheeraj Padkar, Sachin Padkar, and Prem Ranpise. Gaurav claimed that Dheeraj summoned him late at night and attacked him with a sickle after questioning him about a comment made to Dheeraj's wife.

Another complaint by Sachin Rajendra Padkar, a resident near Bhoite Hospital, reported an assault by a group of ten to twelve individuals waiting at the police station gate when he arrived to file a complaint against Bunty Jagtap.

The police have since filed charges against Bunty Jagtap, Vicky Jagtap, Bablu Jagtap, Anita Jagtap, Ganesh Pathak, Ajay alias Gotya Nage, Gaurav Bhandare, and several others.
