Pune: The Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Government Medical College and Hospital in Baramati is set to receive a cutting-edge MRI machine worth approximately ₹25.10 crore. The purchase order for this advanced equipment was issued today, with the MRI machine expected to be operational within the next two months. This development is poised to benefit countless needy patients in the region.

The acquisition of the MRI machine was facilitated through the initiative of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, with approval from the Medical Education Department.

The Siemens 3.0 Tesla MRI machine, renowned for its advanced technology, will soon be installed in Baramati. The official purchase order was issued today by the Medical Education Department to the relevant agency.

Up until now, MRI services at government rates were unavailable in Baramati. However, with the introduction of this advanced MRI machine, patients from Baramati and nearby areas will be able to access MRI services at government rates, significantly easing the financial burden on many families.

This addition complements the existing medical facilities at the government medical college, which already boasts a functional CT scan system and an accident department. These facilities have greatly improved healthcare services for the local population.

Previously, patients had to rely on private hospitals for MRI tests, often at much higher costs. The new MRI facility at the government medical college will now allow needy patients to receive these vital diagnostic services at more affordable, government-regulated rates.
