Bavdhan: Woman Demands 25 Lakhs, Threatens Rape Case if Not Met

Pune: A case has been filed against a 36-year-old woman who allegedly blackmailed a man, demanding 25 lakh rupees or a flat, and threatened to file a rape case against his friend if her demands were not met. This incident occurred in Bavdhan between June 14, 2023, and August 1, 2024.

Dattatraya Suresh Kalbhor (aged 41, resident of Bavdhan) has lodged a complaint at Hinjewadi Police Station regarding this matter. Accordingly, a case has been filed against a 36-year-old woman.

According to the police, the accused woman's friend called Dattatraya and asked him to meet the accused woman at a café in Bavdhan.

When Dattatraya arrived, the accused demanded, "Stay with me somewhere, or give me 25 lakh rupees or a 1BHK flat as compensation." She also threatened, "If you don't fulfill my demand, I will file a rape case against you."

The accused further threatened, "Tell me when you will give me the money or the flat, or else I will make your entire family bow down to my feet."

The accused woman called Dattatraya's friend Amir Chaudhary and asked him to meet at a hotel, demanding, "Tell him to give me a flat or at least 25 lakh rupees," and also abused and threatened him. Hinjewadi police are investigating the matter.

In July 2024, Sudarshan Sandeepan Shingate, 38, residing at Chandrabhaga Angan, Ambegaon was charged with rape after meeting a woman through the matrimonial website, promising marriage, and then sexually assaulting her at her home. When the woman later inquired about marriage, the man refused, leading to allegations of deception and fraud.
