Beat Dengue Campaign: PCMC Commissioner Shekhar Singh Leads by Example

Pune: In a determined effort to make Pimpri-Chinchwad city dengue-free, Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Commissioner Shekhar Singh personally undertook the cleaning of his residence, actively participating in the anti-dengue campaign.

Municipal officers, recognizing their responsibility towards public health, also cleaned their homes. Commissioner Singh has urged citizens to adopt the "Beat Dengue" initiative to maintain their health and well-being.

As part of the municipal corporation's campaign to eliminate dengue from the city, citizens are encouraged to dedicate one hour a week to cleaning their homes and surroundings.

Today, municipal officers participated in this initiative by cleaning coolers, refrigerators, water storage containers, plant pots, and backyards.

The "Beat Dengue" campaign includes a week-long series of activities aimed at raising awareness and preventing the spread of dengue. The campaign's goal is to educate the public about dengue prevention and to enhance community participation and inter-departmental coordination.

Commissioner Singh emphasized the importance of citizen involvement in the measures being taken to combat dengue and urged residents to be vigilant and proactive in keeping their homes and surroundings clean and dry.

The municipal corporation is making all efforts to ensure the health and well-being of its citizens. Commissioner Singh has called on residents to join the campaign, take care of their health, and follow the "Beat Dengue" initiative to keep their homes and surroundings clean and dry.

In the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation region, 3,002 blood samples from individuals suspected of having dengue were tested by July 18, with 23 confirmed cases identified.

Three residents from a society in Viveknagar, Akurdi had been admitted to hospital with dengue-like symptoms.
