Pune: A 19-year-old student has been arrested for attempting to molest a seventh-grade girl on the premises of a renowned school in Bhavani Peth area.

According to the police, on August 15, the victim girl was on the second floor of the school, searching for her school bag. The accused boy was standing near the boys' restroom.

As the victim approached, the accused grabbed her hand and forcibly dragged her into the restroom. During this time, the accused engaged in an act that would cause her shame and distress.

However, the minor girl managed to escape and fled the scene. Upon reaching home, she narrated the entire incident to her mother, who then went to the police station to file a complaint.

A case has been registered against the accused under Sections 74, 75 (1) (i), and POCSO at the Samarth Police Station. The accused has been arrested, and further investigation is underway.

In a separate and equally disturbing case, a 17-year-old girl has accused Suraj Vicky Gaikwad, a resident of Tanajinagar, of engaging in a physical relationship with her, leading to her pregnancy.

The girl, who met Gaikwad through Instagram, was reportedly called to his house in Dhankawadi, where the incident took place. After a few encounters, the girl discovered she was pregnant, with medical tests confirming she was 17 to 19 weeks along.

The Sahakarnagar police have registered a case under the POCSO Act against Gaikwad, and legal proceedings have been initiated.
