Bhosari: Metro Network Expansion to Connect Pimpri-Chinchwad with Alandi

The proposed routes—Hinjewadi-Bhosari-Chakan, Hinjewadi-Ravet-Chakan, and Nigdi-Moshi-Wagholi—are expected to become a reality

Metro service between Swargate and Pimpri is now operational, marking a major milestone in the region’s transportation infrastructure.

As part of a broader vision, work is already underway to extend this service from Pimpri to Nigdi, with additional plans to expand further from Swargate to Katraj.

Once these extensions are completed, the metro will serve more commuters, easing congestion on key routes in the Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad areas.

Discussions are ongoing to create metro routes connecting major industrial and residential areas like Hinjewadi, Bhosari, Chakan, and Wagholi, which would significantly boost the region's connectivity.

The proposed routes—Hinjewadi-Bhosari-Chakan, Hinjewadi-Ravet-Chakan, and Nigdi-Moshi-Wagholi—are expected to become a reality.

With the rapid industrialization and urbanization of areas like Mulshi, Maval, Khed, and Shirur, the Bhosari assembly constituency is poised to become a central hub in the future.

The Pune-Nashik Highway, which passes through Bhosari, will undergo a significant upgrade, with a 28-kilometer elevated flyover being constructed from Nashik Phata (Kasarwadi) to Rajgurunagar.

Once completed, the travel time on this route will be reduced to just 20 minutes. The project will be carried out in two phases: from Nashik Phata to Moshi Toll Plaza, and from Moshi Toll Plaza to Chandoli Toll Plaza.

Expanding the Metro Network
The proposed metro expansion will further connect critical areas of Pimpri-Chinchwad, improving access to the region's industrial zones. Key routes under consideration include:

  • Hinjewadi to Chakan via Wakad, Pimple Saudagar, Nashik Phata, and Bhosari

  • Hinjewadi to Chakan via Tathawade, Punawale, Kiwale, and Ravet
Nigdi to Wagholi via Triveninagar, Moshi, Charholi, and Krishnanagar

According to MLA Mahesh Landge, efforts are underway to secure approvals from both the state and central governments.

These expansions would bring substantial benefits, providing seamless metro connectivity to fast-growing industrial and residential areas.

Extending the Metro to Alandi
In addition to these plans, there are ongoing discussions to extend the metro from Vishrantwadi in Pune to Alandi.

This extension would pass through key areas like Dighi, Charholi, and Moshi, and would help connect various suburban and rural areas with the metro network.

The villages of Moshi, Dudulgaon, Bhosari, Vadmukhwadi, and Charholi Khurd would be integrated into the Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad metropolitan regions, offering better transport solutions for both commuters and businesses.
