Bibwewadi: Missing Mentally Challenged Girl Found After Major Search Effort

Pune: A ten-year-old mentally challenged girl who went missing from the Bibwewadi area on Wednesday (August 14) has been found. The incident, which sparked significant concern, ended on a positive note late Thursday (August 15) night when the girl was safely located.

The girl, a resident of Papal Wasti in Bibwewadi, disappeared around 2 PM on August 14. Despite extensive efforts by her family to locate her, they were unable to find her and reported her missing at the Bibwewadi Police Station.

Acting swiftly, the police launched an investigation, analyzing CCTV footage from the Bibwewadi and Katraj areas. The footage showed the girl in the Katraj area, along with a possible suspect.

Authorities intensified their search efforts, circulating the girl's photograph and details on social media, and appealing to the public for assistance.

The seriousness of the situation prompted Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar and Additional Commissioner Ranjankumar Sharma to visit the Bibwewadi Police Station, where they provided guidance on the investigation.

A special team from the Crime Branch conducted a day-long search operation on August 15, scouring the area for clues.

Their efforts paid off late Thursday night when the girl was successfully located and brought back to the Bibwewadi Police Station. Her family expressed immense relief and gratitude upon her safe return.
