Pune: Sunil Tatkare, State President of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), has urged that no one should tarnish the unity of the Mahayuti (Grand Alliance) after tensions arose during a recent party event.

The Ajit Pawar faction of the NCP organized the 'Jan Sanman Yatra' and a tourism review meeting in Narayangaon, where BJP leaders and the Shinde faction of Shiv Sena were notably absent from photos or mentions, causing unrest among BJP workers. In response, the BJP workers showed black flags and protested the lack of invitation to the meeting.

Sunil Tatkare further said, "Even in my district, BJP leaders and ministers visit. We never object to their programs. Therefore, if anyone is attempting to tarnish the unity of the Mahayuti in this manner, they should be strictly warned. This is my clear stance."

When informed that BJP leaders and workers were saying Ajit Pawar should have taken the alliance partners into confidence while organizing the program, Sunil Tatkare responded, "Leave their matter aside; I do not feel the need to react to them. I will speak directly with their party's state president, Chandrashekhar Bawankule."

In response to this, Amol Mitkari, a member of the Legislative Council from the Ajit Pawar faction, has demanded that Devendra Fadnavis clarify the matter.

Amol Mitkari posted on the microblogging platform X, expressing his displeasure with the BJP workers. Mitkari said the 'Jan Sanman Yatra' is an independent program of the Nationalist Congress Party.

Those who showed black flags should organize their own programs. Devendra Fadnavis should immediately clarify the situation regarding the black flags displayed today.
