Pune: In a tragic incident in Talegaon, a worker lost his life, and two others sustained serious injuries due to stones dislodged by a blasting operation on an adjacent plot.

The incident occurred on Saturday, September 28, at approximately 11:30 AM, at the Cosmos company located in Mangrul village, Maval taluka.

The deceased has been identified as Ajit Kumar Bhuchakoon Sah, aged 25. The injured workers, Ram Pravesh Ram Prasad and Rahul Ram Prasad, are currently receiving medical attention for their injuries. The incident has raised serious concerns regarding safety practices in blasting operations.

Munuswamy Wardharaj Narayan Swami, aged 52, a resident of Katavi in Maval, has lodged a formal complaint with the Talegaon MIDC police station. In his complaint, he alleges that the blasting was conducted by unknown individuals without any prior warning, leading to the unexpected scattering of stones from the adjacent plot owned by Arun Bhegade.

According to police reports, while the complainant and his team were working at the Cosmos company, they were caught off guard by the sudden explosion, resulting in debris flying into their work area. Ajit Sah tragically lost his life in this incident, while the two injured workers were rushed to a nearby medical facility for urgent care.

Authorities are currently conducting an investigation to ascertain the details surrounding the incident and the accountability of those responsible for the blasting. The police have already registered a case against unidentified individuals linked to the unauthorized blasting.
