Pune: A private passenger bus traveling from Sangola to Pune met with a serious accident on the Pune-Solapur National Highway near Galandwadi village in Indapur taluka on Sunday (September 8) evening, leaving over 13 passengers injured.

The accident occurred around 7 PM when the bus (MH 09 KF 5969) suffered a tire burst, causing it to lose control and crash into an iron-laden truck (TN 93 B 3062) traveling ahead in the same direction.

As a result of the impact, iron rods from the truck scattered across the highway, causing further damage. The bus then skidded off the highway and fell about 25 to 30 feet into an embankment. Fortunately, despite the severity of the crash, no fatalities were reported. However, 13 passengers were seriously injured.

Local authorities, including the Indapur Police and a team from the National Highway Authority, swiftly responded to the scene. The injured passengers were extracted from the wreckage and taken to the Indapur Sub-District Hospital for medical treatment, where their conditions are being monitored.
