Pune: Cummins India Limited launched ‘REDEFINE 2024,’ its annual case study competition for business school students. The initiative challenges participants to apply strategic thinking, innovation, and analytical skills to tackle real-world business problems.

This year’s theme, “How Digital Solutions Enable Sustainability in Traditional Businesses?”, urges students to explore the integration of digital technology with sustainability goals.

The competition emphasizes how digital solutions can bolster Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) reporting, lower Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions, and enhance operational efficiency.

Anupama Kaul, Human Resources Leader at Cummins India, expressed her enthusiasm about the competition, stating, “REDEFINE 2024 serves as a key platform for nurturing future business leaders.

As sustainability and technology continue to redefine industries, the competition provides a space where young minds can demonstrate how digitalization can contribute to a more sustainable business environment.”

Subramanian Chidambaran, Director of Corporate Strategy at Cummins India, added, “Our goal with REDEFINE is to inspire students to think beyond conventional methods and discover how technology can reshape traditional industries.

The competition reflects Cummins India’s unwavering commitment to innovation, sustainability, and industry excellence.”

REDEFINE 2024 is open to first- and second-year students from flagship PGP, PGDM, PGDBM, and MBA programs across 18 top business schools in India.

The competition will culminate in a two-day grand finale at Cummins India’s Pune office on November 14-15, 2024. The winning team will receive a cash prize and an invitation to join Cummins India’s mentorship program, designed to foster future business leaders.

The competition not only involves a case study but also offers participants the chance to engage with Cummins India’s leadership through various interactive sessions. Last year, REDEFINE attracted 3,752 students from 938 teams representing 18 of the country’s leading business schools.

Participating institutions for this year include top B-schools such as the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) at Indore, Kozhikode, Lucknow, and other premier institutions like XLRI Jamshedpur, Indian School of Business (ISB) Hyderabad, and SP Jain Institute of Management and Research, Mumbai.
