Pune: In a strong rebuke to the opposition, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde accused them of engaging in constant criticism without offering constructive solutions.

He highlighted how the opposition first criticized the organization of the metro inauguration event, and even after it was postponed due to rain, they continued their attacks.

Similarly, he pointed out that despite the opposition demanding the death penalty for the accused in the Badlapur case, they still questioned the police’s actions when the accused was shot after firing at officers.

"The opposition is two-faced," Shinde remarked, "and they will criticize no matter what is done."

Chief Minister Shinde was speaking at an event organized at Ganesh Kala Krida Manch, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the District Court to Swargate metro line along with other development projects worth ₹11,000 crores through a virtual ceremony.

During his speech, Shinde expressed his displeasure over how the previous Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government stalled key decisions taken by then-Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, which led to Maharashtra slipping to third place in investment rankings.

He stated, "When we came back into power, we removed the suspensions on these decisions and restored Maharashtra to its top position in the country for investments. Despite opposition efforts, Maharashtra remains an industry-friendly state, and companies continue to choose it for their investments."

Shinde also addressed the state’s various welfare schemes, including the ‘Majhi Ladki Bahin’ initiative, ensuring the audience that the scheme has been financially supported for the entire year and will not be halted. In a lighter but pointed comment, he warned the opposition trying to create hurdles in government schemes, saying, "My sisters will show them their sandals."
