Pune: In a swift response to a request from MNS President Raj Thackeray, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has announced financial assistance of 10 lakh rupees for each family of the two young men who died in the recent Pune floods. The decision came just hours after Thackeray’s delegation approached the Chief Minister.

Last week, the Mutha River in Pune experienced a significant flood. During the flood, two young men were electrocuted and died. Abhishek Ghanekar and Akash Mane, residents of Pulachi Wadi in Deccan Gymkhana, lost their lives in this incident.

On Saturday (August 3), MNS President Raj Thackeray met Chief Minister Eknath Shinde at his Varsha residence regarding this matter. Various topics were discussed during this meeting, including the floods in Pune. Raj Thackeray brought to the Chief Minister's attention the unfortunate deaths of these two young men in the Pune floods.

They had already been granted 5 lakh rupees from the State Disaster Relief Fund by the Pune District Collector. However, Raj highlighted that this aid was insufficient given the poor financial condition of the two youths' families.

Following this, Chief Minister Shinde immediately decided to provide 10 lakh rupees from the Chief Minister's Assistance Fund as a special case for these two youths.

After the meeting with Raj Thackeray, the Chief Minister immediately arranged for the aid cheques to be brought to Varsha Bungalow.

On Saturday, the cheques were handed over in a representative form to MNS delegation members Aaba Yedge and Ranjit Shitole by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. These two will deliver the aid to the families of the two youths.
