Pune: The Congress party released its fourth list of assembly election candidates late on Sunday (October 27), adding 14 new candidates and further refining its electoral strategy.

This list highlights a reshuffle involving two seats, aiming to strengthen the party’s chances in competitive constituencies.

Notable additions include former minister Ramesh Bagwe, who will contest from Pune Cantonment assembly seat, and former municipal corporator Datta Bahirat, selected to represent Shivajinagar assembly seat.

Congress made strategic changes in Andheri West and Aurangabad East constituencies, replacing previously announced candidates.

Sachin Sawant, who had been chosen to represent Andheri West, will now be succeeded by Ashok Jadhav. Similarly, Lahu Shewale has been confirmed to contest in Aurangabad East, stepping in for Madhukar Deshmukh.

Additional candidates announced in the latest list include Bhagirath Bhalke, who will represent the Pandharpur constituency, and Dilip Mane for Solapur South. In Warora, Praveen Kakde is set to contest, while Anil Shinde will represent Amalner.

Congress has fielded Ravindra Dhangekar, the sitting MLA, from the Kasba Peth assembly constituency.

Veteran Congress leader and former Deputy Mayor of Pune, Aaba Bagul, has officially filed his nomination for the Parvati Assembly seat, setting the stage for what promises to be a closely contested race.

Bagul, currently serving as the Vice President of the Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee, has solidified his intent to contest the upcoming assembly elections from the Parvati constituency.
