After November, India records highest number of Covid-19 cases

On November 26, India has seen a single-day spike of 44,489 new infections.

Over the last few months, after the spread of the virus was thought to be controlled, India is now witnessing a massive surge India is witnessing a massive surge Covid-19 cases. India has recorded 43,846 infections in the last 24 hours. This has been the highest since November. This has taken the Covid-19 case count in India to 1,15,99,130.

On November 26, India has seen a single-day spike of 44,489 new infections. But with the decrease in the number of cases, it was expected that the country finally had some control over the virus. But now it has been the eleventh consecutive day since the country has been registering an increase in the cases.

According to the data released by the Health Ministery, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Gujrat, Delhi, Karnataka and Haryana are showing a steep rise in daily cases.

With this increase, some states and cities are expected to undergo lockdown again, to control the number of cases. There has also been a reimposition of restrictions and the government is closely monitoring the situation.

The total number of deaths recorded in the last 24 hours is 197 people. And the total fatality rate is currently at 1,59,755 in India. The active caseload in the country has mounted to 3,09,087.

A total number of 22,956 patients in a day and a total of 1,11,30,288 persons have been discharged so far. A total of 11,33,602 tests were done on Friday.

Amidst the vaccination drive in India, so far 4.46 crore doses of corona vaccine have been administered in the country. The country is currently administering two vaccines since January 16 after the approval for 'Covishield' and 'Covaxin'.

More than 16.12 lakh doses were administered on a single day on Saturday.
