Covid-19: How will the virus and the vaccine affect workplace and travel

So even with the vaccine, there could be no going back to normal anytime soon in the absence of orders supported by global standards, clear guidelines, and communication, Mouhsian said.

While several countries are working towards the possibility of introducing a Covid-19 vaccine passport, there are some developments on the research front. A new report has warned that a lack of travel eligibility can leave millions of not-at-risk travellers behind.

Considering all the security requirements, it is expected that identity checks to verify "immune" people may lead to all sorts of discrimination, fraud, ethical, and privacy threats as well as a bad travel experience, Tom Mouhsian, Principal Analyst at Forrester, wrote in a blog post last week.

So even with the vaccine, there could be no going back to normal anytime soon in the absence of orders supported by global standards, clear guidelines, and communication, Mouhsian said.

According to a report published in the future-of-travel from Forrester, travel organisations will have to focus on helping customers obtain pre-travel test results in the near term and offer clear communications with actionable assistance at every part of the travel journey.

The travel companies also mind customers' privacy concerns when it comes to immunization. Even vaccine certificates need to be considered and always need to be ready for new rules and mandates and take force.

Additionally, another report focused on the impact of vaccines on workplaces that despite high expectations results might not be as expected.

"We advise them to make moderate -- not radical -- changes to their pandemic protocols at this time," Mouhsian said.
