World's biggest vaccination drive began in India on January 16, which was inaugurated virtually by our Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
As on January 20, a total of 7,86,842 people have been vaccinated for COVID-19. Vaccination drive was spread across 14,119 sessions throughout the country.
Today, up to 6:00 pm, spread over 20 states and Union Territories, 1,12,007 people have been vaccinated.

Till date, six states have reported people being hospitalised due to the vaccination which are as follows -

In Uttarakhand, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan, all the hospitalised patients have been discharged. Whereas 3 people are discharged and 1 is under observation in Delhi at Rajiv Gandhi Hospital, Shahdra.
In Karnataka, out of the 2 patients, 1 has been discharged and 1 is under observation at District Hospital, Chitradurga.
In West Bengal, the patient is under observation at Sub-Divisional Hospital, Murshidabad.
Four deaths have been also reported after taking the first shot of vaccination, one in Uttar Pradesh, two in Karnataka and one in Telangana. The post-mortem reports have confirmed that none of the deaths occurred due to the vaccination. Whereas, a post-mortem is still going on in Telangana.
