Dhankawadi: Shri Sadguru Shankar Maharaj Samadhi Trust celebrated the birth anniversary of Shri Santvarya Yogiraj Shankar Maharaj, a place of worship for lakhs of devotees, at Shri Shankar Maharaj Math in Dhankawadi. Thousands of devotees visited the samadhi of Shankar Maharaj.
The flowers were decorated according to the concept that the monastery is the foliage of the Maharaja. The electroplating made it even more attractive. Natural resources such as bamboo, kadba and warli paintings were used.
The maha puja and aarti of samadhi were performed at 2.30 am on Saturday. The devotees present were allowed to enter the sanctum sanctorum to perform jalabhishek at the samadhi.
The traditional dance was performed in a pleasant atmosphere. Then sadhguru was praised. Maharaj's aarti was performed at 4.30 pm. After this, devotees started thronging for darshan.
The palkhi ceremony of Durgashtami and monthly blood donation camp were held as per tradition. The temple is open day and night from Panchami on the occasion of Prakta Diwas. The devotees were present from the night itself. Various religious programmes were organised at the mutt.
On this occasion, President Satish Kokate, Secretary Surendra Waikar, Trustee Dr. P . D. Patil, Raj Suryavanshi, Nilesh Malpani, Dr. Mihir Kulkarni, Pratap Bhosale and others were present.
The police administration kept a tight vigil in the mutt area. The traffic police planned the traffic and crowd properly. After the afternoon aarti on Sunday (March 10), there will be a prayer and peace recitation of Maharanja. After that, the monastery will be closed for half a day. Darshan will begin on Monday morning.

Sadguru Shankar Maharaj Annachhatra Samiti organized a nagarpradakshina palkhi ceremony on the occasion of the manifestation day of Shri Santvarya Yogiraj Shankar Maharaj.
Annachhatra Samiti chairman Rajabhau Revde, office-bearers Prashant Suryavanshi, Nilesh Kotkar, Nikhil Waghmare, Pravin Pasalkar and all the trustees and servants made efforts to make the plan a success, said Suhas Ranawade-Patil, head of the committee.
