Pune: Kishor Baburao Shinge, former accounts officer in the Water Supply and Sewerage Department of Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation, has been charged with holding disproportionate assets exceeding his legitimate income by 102 percent.

The case was filed at Wakad Police Station following an investigation by the Anti-Corruption Bureau.

According to the complaint lodged by Deputy Superintendent of Police Madhuri Bhasale, Shinge is accused of possessing unaccounted assets worth ₹50,40,264.

The investigation spanned a period from December 18, 1987, to July 31, 2017, during which Shinge was granted multiple opportunities to clarify the sources of his accumulated wealth but could not provide a satisfactory explanation.

The report concluded that the wealth acquired by Shinge did not align with his known income sources.

Furthermore, it was revealed that Shinge had allegedly used these illicit means to enrich both himself and his wife, Bhagyashree Kishor Shinge, who has also been charged with abetting his actions.

The Anti-Corruption Department's probe was conducted under the leadership of Superintendent of Police Shirish Sardeshpande and Additional Superintendent Dr. Sheetal Janve, with Deputy Superintendent Dayanand Gawde leading the ongoing investigation.

Earlier in the month, the ACB has filed a case against Shirish Yadav, the former Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Slum Rehabilitation Department, for allegedly possessing assets worth crores that are disproportionate to his known income.

The investigation revealed that Yadav and his wife, Pratiksha Shirish Yadav, hold assets totaling ₹1,38,74,044, significantly exceeding their declared income.
