Pune: The district administration has started distributing voter id slips. The voter slip has a QR code of the polling station's location. The QR code will make it easier for voters to find polling stations.
Early distribution has been started so that the voter note reaches the voters. While distributing it, letters of personal information, including QR codes, are being given to voters.
A polling level officer (BLO) has been appointed at each polling station. Accordingly, 8,417 polling level officers have been appointed for the entire district. There are 88,49,590 voters in 21 assembly constituencies in the district.
As per the central election commission's instructions, the ballot papers have to be distributed five days before the election. However, the district administration has already taken measures to increase the voting percentage.
Since Pune is the district with the highest number of voters in the state, we have started distributing the slips even before the elections so that they can get the ballots.
The district administration had sent a proposal to the Election Commission in this regard. It has just been approved.
After scanning the QR code on the note, each voter will be able to fill in the information of one of the voter epic numbers, personal details or mobile numbers, then the information of the voter's polling station will be available at one click, said Dr. Suhas Divase, District Collector and District Election Officer
