Pune: Parvati and Sinhagad road police traced 38 mobile phones, which were lost and stolen in the crowd of citizens, and returned them to the concerned.
On the occasion of Diwali, people returned 38 mobile phones and gave a unique 'Diwali' gift. The action was taken under the guidance of Additional Commissioner of Police Pravin Patil and Deputy Commissioner of Police Of Zone III Sambhaji Kadam.
Sinhagad Road police conducted a technical analysis and traced 23 missing mobile phones of citizens. The police returned 23 mobile phones worth around Rs 3.25 lakh to the complaining citizens.
Under the guidance of Assistant Commissioner Ajay Parmar, Senior Inspector Raghavendrasingh Kshirsagar of Sinhagad Road police station, Police Inspector (Crime) Uttam Bhajnavale, Assistant Inspector Vaishali Bhosale, Uttam Taru, Hanumant Gambhire, Mayur Shinde and Akshay Jadhav took the action.
Also, in the last six months, complaints of missing mobile phones were received in the market and elsewhere within the limits of Pahari police station.
The Parvati police traced 15 mobile phones from different parts of Karnataka, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat and Maharashtra. Deputy Commissioner of Police Sambhaji Kadam recently returned their mobile phones to the complainants.
The action was taken under the guidance of Senior Inspector Nandkumar Gaikwad of Parbati police station and Police Inspector (Crime) Amol More.
Mobile phones are being lost and stolen in crowded places in the city. Based on a citizen's complaint, the police traced the mobile through a technical analysis with the help of mobile companies and central government portals from the IMEI number.
If citizens lose their mobile phones, they should lodge a complaint on the Pune Police website 'Lost and Found' or the Central Government's CIIR portal, said Sambhaji Kadam, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Zone III.
