Fate of Candidates will be Decided by the Sugar Belt

There are 12 cooperative and six private sugar factories in Pune district.

Someshwarnagar: Eight of the 10 assembly constituencies in the district are witnessing a power struggle between candidates associated with sugar mills. Three current presidents of sugar mills and six former presidents are actually in the fray for the assembly.

The politics of MLAship has shaken the sugar belt in the district and the future of the factory will also be affected by the results. The current scenario is that it is the sugar belt that will decide the fate of the candidates.

There are 12 cooperative and six private sugar factories in the district. The industrialists with financial power have not been tempted by mlAs, district banks and zilla parishads.

Barring Khed-Alandi and Maval constituencies, all the remaining eight constituencies have 11 candidates related to the factory. Sugarboard intervention The election will be decisive and only November 23 will prove for whom sugar will be sweet and bitter for whom.

In Baramati constituency, there is a close contest between Ajit Pawar, the leader of the high-priced factory of Someshwar and Malegaon, and Yugendra Pawar, managing director of The Sharyu Agro Factory. This conflict will affect the future of Someshwar and Malegaon.

Purandar constituency is the jurisdiction of 'Someshwar' and MLA Sanjay Jagtap has two directors in 'Someshwar'. It will be interesting to see the cane-growers in the field support Jagtap or opposition candidates Vijay Shivtare and Sadashiv Jhende.

In Indapur, the fate of the contest between Harshvardhan Patil, president of Karmayogi and founder of Neera-Bhima, and Dattatreya Bharne, former president of 'Chhatrapati', will be decided by the sugar belt. Since both of their factories are doing well at the moment, this issue is going to bring both of them to the fore.

1. In Ambegaon constituency, the political battle between two former Presidents of Bhimashankar Dilip Walse Patil and Devdutt Nikam has reached a tipping point and the issue of 'Bhimashankar' is also being discussed in this election.

2. In Daund taluka too, there is a power struggle between MLAs Rahul Kul and Ramesh Thorat, leaders associated with Bhima-Patas. The issue of leasing out Bhima-Patas has come to the centre stage.

3. In Shirur-Haveli constituency, MLA Ashok Pawar is a former president of Ghodganga and is pitted against Dnyaneshwar Katke. Here too, it will be known from the vote which of the two will be affected by the debate over who caused the "Horseganga" to get into trouble.

4. In Junnar constituency too, Satyasheel Sherkar, president of 'Vignahar' factory, is pitted against MLA Atul Benke.

5. In Bhor-Velha-Mulshi constituency, Rajgad president and MLA Sangram Thopte is facing a challenge from Shankar Mandekar, Kuldeep Konde and others.

Former presidents, directors campaignSenior leader Sharad Pawar has said that there is not a single factory in the state that I have not helped as the votes of sugarcane growers in the district will be decisive.

Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has also campaigned for Someshwar, Malegaon and Dilip Walse Patil to run Bhimashankar well. Some will also be affected by mismanagement. Former presidents and directors of factories are also campaigning.
