Five New German Language Training Centers to Open in Pune for Job Seekers

Memorandum of understanding signed between Pune's Goethe-Institut Max Mueller Bhavan and the State Educational Research and Training Council.

Pune is set to become a hub for German language education as five new training centers are established to prepare local youth for employment opportunities in Germany’s Baden-Württemberg state.

This initiative comes as part of a broader effort by the Maharashtra state government to address the demand for skilled labor in European countries.

Balakrishna Watekar, the principal of the District Education and Training Institute, announced that the state government has entered into a partnership with Baden-Württemberg to supply skilled workers from Maharashtra.

As part of this agreement, the state will offer free German language courses to eligible candidates through newly established training centers in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad.

This educational push aligns with a memorandum of understanding signed between Pune's Goethe-Institut Max Mueller Bhavan and the State Educational Research and Training Council.

The goal is to train at least 10,000 skilled workers across 30 fields, making them eligible for employment in Germany. Students who complete these courses can register at https://www.maa.ac.in/GermanyEmployment/.

Eligible candidates will receive free German language training from the state government.

Additionally, Watekar noted that any curriculum discrepancies between the training programs in Maharashtra and Germany will be addressed with supplementary training, ensuring that candidates are fully prepared for their roles abroad.

Opportunity for German Language Teachers

A large number of teachers will be needed to teach German to the registered youth. Therefore, teachers interested in teaching German in government and local body schools in Pune district are invited to register at https://forms.gle/1Q32ByNwp9MnHmHc7.
