Pune: In a significant political development, former MLA Vilas Lande, associated with the Ajit Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), is poised to join NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar). This announcement was made by his son, Vikrant Lande, during a media interaction in Pimpri-Chinchwad.
Vilas Lande is a well-known figure in Bhosari, recognized for his controversial political maneuvers. Just yesterday, he met with Sharad Pawar at Modi Baug in Pune, sparking various discussions and speculations about his political future.
Following that meeting, both Ajit Gawane from Sharad Pawar’s faction and Vikrant Lande visited Sharad Pawar, where they engaged in discussions regarding the upcoming political alignment.
Although it was anticipated that Vilas Lande would join the Sharad Pawar faction alongside Ajit Gawane, his entry has faced delays due to unspecified reasons. However, Vikrant Lande has expressed optimism that his father will formally join the group before the Dussehra festival.
Ajit Gawane further stated that Vilas Lande intends to bring several former corporators with him into Sharad Pawar’s faction.
This potential shift is noteworthy, considering Lande’s historically ambiguous political stances. Observers are keen to see whether Vilas Lande will genuinely align with Sharad Pawar's faction or if he will once again evade commitment.
As the political landscape evolves in Maharashtra, the developments surrounding Vilas Lande’s potential shift to Sharad Pawar’s camp are expected to have significant implications for local political dynamics.
