The deceased, identified as Brian Rudolf Gear, succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at a hospital.

The Crime Branch of the Pune Police received a tip-off about illegal gambling activities taking place on the second floor of a society located opposite Christ Church in Nana Peth.

Acting swiftly, a team was dispatched to conduct a raid at the site. Upon reaching the second floor, the officers knocked on the door, which was opened by one of the gamblers. Realizing that the police were present, the individual raised an alarm, shouting to alert the others.

Panic ensued as the gamblers, who were playing cards inside, scrambled to flee. In a moment of fear and confusion, Brian Rudolf Gear jumped from the second-floor gallery in an attempt to escape.

He was severely injured in the fall and was immediately taken to a nearby hospital. Unfortunately, despite medical efforts, Brian passed away later that night.

The police have launched an investigation to track down the operator of the gambling den and the individuals who were present at the time of the raid. This incident highlights the often dangerous and chaotic outcomes that can arise during police crackdowns on illegal activities.
