Ganesh Jewelers Wagholi: Two Arrested in Connection with Burglary

The police have seized stolen items worth ₹65,000, including two stolen motorcycles and burglary tools, from the accused.

Pune: The Crime Branch Unit 6 team has arrested two individuals, including a habitual offender, for their involvement in a burglary at Ganesh Jewelers in Wagholi.

The police have seized stolen items worth ₹65,000, including two stolen motorcycles and burglary tools, from the accused.

The arrested individuals are Hansraj alias Hansu Ranjitsingh Tak (20) and Sanisingh Jitendrasinh Juni (22), both residents of Hadapsar. Hansraj Tak has a criminal record with 25 serious cases, including robbery, burglary, and crimes against the body, registered against him.

On July 15, a burglary occurred at Ganesh Jewelers in Wagholi. Since then, the police had been searching for the suspects.

While patrolling the area, Police Naik Nitin Mundhe received information that the suspects in the case were waiting in an open field near Bhairavnath Temple on the Wagholi to Bhavdi Road. Accordingly, the team set a trap and apprehended Tak and Juni.

During questioning, it was revealed that the two motorcycles in their possession were stolen. Additionally, the accused confessed to breaking into Ganesh Jewelers on July 15 with accomplices.

Following this, the police arrested both individuals and solved five cases registered at Lonikand, Yerawada, and Dehuroad police stations.

The operation was carried out under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police Amol Zhende, Assistant Commissioner of Police Satish Govekar, and Police Inspector Ulhas Kadam, with the assistance of officers Vitthal Khedkar, Ramesh Memane, Kanifnath Karkhele, Nitin Mundhe, and Rushikesh Takwane.
