Pune: In anticipation of the large crowds expected during Ganeshotsav, the Tulshibaug Sarvajanik Ganpati Mandal, Hutatma Babu Genu Mandal Trust, Shri Gajalakshmi Trust, and the Aamhi Punekar organization have joined forces with the Riders of Deccan to ensure that timely medical assistance is available throughout the festival.

This collaboration will see 30 ambulances and 40 motorcycle riders stationed at key points across the city, ready to respond to any medical emergencies.

The initiative, known as "Healthcare at Your Doorstep," was officially launched at the Faraskhana Police Station.

A ceremony was held to mark the occasion, attended by several prominent figures from the community, including Vikas Pawar, President of Tulshibaug Public Ganpati Mandal Trust; Nitin Pandit, President of Hutatma Babu Genu Mandal Trust; Hemant Jadhav from the Aamhi Punekar organization; and Ketan Deshpande, leader of the Gajalakshmi Dhol Tasha Pathak.

Hemant Rasne, Secretary of the Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati Trust, along with Corporator Dheeraj Ghate, Dr. Prasad Khandagale, and other key members of the initiative were also present.

This vital service has grown significantly since its inception, which began with just six ambulances. Today, the fleet has expanded to 30 ambulances, strategically placed to cover all major areas where crowds are expected to gather during the festival.

In addition to ambulances, 40 riders on motorcycles equipped with first aid supplies will navigate through congested areas to provide immediate medical care when needed.

Dr. Priyank Jawale, who is leading the medical team for this initiative, highlighted the importance of quick medical response during the festivities.

"Last year, during the immersion procession, three individuals who suffered from heart issues were swiftly taken to the hospital thanks to the availability of these ambulances. Additionally, we were able to assist a volunteer who was injured after falling from a chariot," he shared.

For those requiring emergency medical assistance during Ganeshotsav, a dedicated helpline (108) will be available. The ambulances and riders will be stationed at several critical points in the city, including Faraskhana Police Station, Babu Genu, Kasba Ganpati Mandal, Kesariwada, Garud Ganpati, Tilak Road, and Ashtavinayak locations across Pune district.

The event concluded with Nitin Pandit leading the proceedings, while Ketan Deshpande offered a vote of thanks.
