Pune: As the city prepares for upcoming elections, a rise in gang-related violence has been observed, leading to multiple incidents of terror and injuries.

In three separate incidents, gangs attacked individuals in different areas of Pune, resulting in the registration of attempted murder cases at the Warje, Parvati, and Chandan Nagar police stations.

In the first incident, a dispute over a blocked motorcycle in the Panmala area on Sinhagad Road escalated into violence. A group of attackers, armed with a machete, injured two young men.

The incident, which occurred on Tuesday evening, involved a gang led by Akash Mhaske. The victims, Sameer Mahade and his friends, had gone to resolve the matter but were attacked. Mahade’s cousin, Santosh Salunkhe, was struck on the head with a machete by one of the attackers, Tejas Nair.

Other victims were hit with stones, causing panic in the area. Parvati police are investigating the case, and a complaint has been filed by Mahade.

In the second incident, Amit Dilip Arne, a resident of Wadgaon Sheri, was brutally assaulted with sticks and iron rods by a gang due to a previous altercation.

The attack took place on Sunday night when Arne visited a local liquor shop. The accused verbally abused him before launching the assault. Arne has filed a complaint at Chandan Nagar police station, and the police are currently investigating the incident.

In the third incident, in Karvenagar, a gang attacked three young men, injuring them with machetes and concrete blocks. The dispute involved Shubham Uphale, whose friends Pratik Bhokare, Rohit Rahate, and Nitin Jamadar were attacked by the gang.
