Pune: In a move towards embracing modern technology, Principal Judge Shilpa Hurgat of Ghodegaon Court urged lawyers to adapt to the evolving digital landscape by incorporating new technological tools in their legal practice.

Speaking at a computer training program organized under the ECT 7E project at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Hall of the Civil and Criminal Court, Judge Hurgat emphasized the importance of transitioning to paperless operations through e-filing, which she said would save both time and money while expediting judicial processes.

The training session, aimed at equipping lawyers and their clerks with essential digital skills, was attended by Co-Judge Sagar Mohite, President of the Lawyers' Association Adv. Pramod Kale, and members of the Ghodegaon Bar Association.

Expert trainers Adv. Nilesh Shelke and Adv. Prakash Shahane conducted the session, offering a comprehensive guide on utilizing the e-courts website for registering and filing cases, as well as managing day-to-day court operations online. They also addressed queries from the participants, providing practical solutions to enhance efficiency in legal procedures.

Adv. Bhushan Shinde coordinated the event, with a vote of thanks delivered by Adv. Pramod Kale and logistical arrangements handled by Adv. Hanumant Parvat.

With the introduction of e-filing, lawyers can now submit cases, affidavits, and other legal documents online, significantly reducing the need for physical court appearances.

The system supports filings in native languages across various courts, including the High Court, District Court, and Taluka Court, streamlining the process and minimizing travel time.

Additionally, digital records will allow clients to access the status of their cases from the comfort of their homes, while all relevant court documents and judgments will be available online, as explained by expert trainer Adv. Nilesh Shelke.
