Pune: MIT World Peace University (MIT-WPU) celebrated the conclusion of its Social Leadership Development Program (SLDP) 2024, a three-day event focused on cultivating leadership qualities necessary for addressing today’s global challenges. Held from August 12th to 14th, the program provided a unique platform for nurturing future social leaders.

The valedictory ceremony was highlighted by the presence of Maharashtra’s Governor, C. P. Radhakrishnan, who served as the Chief Guest. In his address, Governor Radhakrishnan urged students to lead with purpose and resilience, drawing inspiration from historical figures like Abraham Lincoln.

"You are the future stars of our nation," he said. "Leadership requires adaptability, guidance, and resilience. Stay committed to your goals, just as our Prime Minister has shown through his rise to global leadership. With persistence and hard work, you can shape a vibrant society in India."

The event also featured Major General Vikram Dev Dogra, AVSM, as the Special Guest of Honor. Drawing from his military background, Major General Dogra emphasized the importance of discipline and overcoming failure. His insights resonated deeply with the students, reinforcing the program's core message of leadership and commitment.

The SLDP 2024 was inaugurated by Alok Shukla, a recipient of the Goldman Environmental Award. He inspired students with his experiences in environmental protection and social equality, urging them to view development through an inclusive lens.

The event concluded with acknowledgments from key university figures, including Prof. Dr. R. M. Chitnis, Vice Chancellor, Dr. Sanjay Kamtekar, Chief Academic Officer, and Dr. Ganesh Kakandikar, Associate Dean and Convenor of SLDP 2024.
